Enjoy the many festivals that Grand Rapids will offer this summer

Summer is almost here, the time of the year that is perfect to enjoy with the family many events that will be celebrated in Grand Rapids. The city will offer cuisine, beer, art and culture festivals for the community.

For example, during the month of June, five important festivals will take place. From June 2 through June 4, the Festival of the Arts will take place. This is a free event that has been celebrated for many decades in the city. The attendants will be able to enjoy art, music, dance, food and much more in downtown.

On June 10, at the Rosa Parks Circle, the Grand Rapids Asian Festival will take place. The community will enjoy different cultural events that will range from the lion dance, martial arts, music, origami and Asian food.
A week after, on June 16, the Founder Fest will take place in Founders Brewing Company in Granville Ave. Beer lovers will enjoy a diverse variety of liquor, live music and food. Also, on June 17 at the Calder Plaza, the Grand Rapids Pride Festival will take place that empowers the LGBT community (Lesbians, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexuals) from West Michigan through musical and artistic events. The activities are suitable for old and young.
On June 24, the Grand Rapids Water Festival will be celebrated in Riverside Park in which the community will enjoy many activities and live music from local folkloric bands that focus their themes in the preservation and care of the environment. The event is free to the public.
In July, the city will have two important events. The celebration for Fourth of July which will take place on July 1ST at Ah-Nab-Awen Park from 5 pm to 10:30 pm. Like every year, there will be food, live music, and recreational activities before the fireworks show.
On July 10th, at the same park, there will be a balloon festival called Grand Rapids Balloon Festival Night Glow. The event goes from 6 pm to 10 pm and there will be live music, food, and many activities focused on hot air balloons that will flood the skies in that part of town.
Later, during the month of August, the community will enjoy three important events. From August 19 to the 20th at Rosa Parks Circle the GrandJazzFest will take place. This is a free festival in where many important representatives of local and national music will present their art. Also, the attendants will enjoy good music and a variety of activities.
Hispanic and Polish heritage will also have a presence from August 25 to August 27. At Rosa Parks Circle, the Polish Festival will take place and the community will enjoy food, beer, music, dance and crafts coming from Poland. At Calder Plaza, the Hispanic Festival of Grand Rapids will celebrate the Hispanic culture with live music, entertainment and different free activities for the community.
To end the summer season, the ninth edition of Artprize will take place from September 20 to October 8. This is the largest festival in the country and thousands of artists from the world attend the event. Grand Rapids, for a few weeks, becomes a giant art gallery.
