Composed during the Second World War, Prokofiev’s Fifth celebrates a people’s triumphant spirit in their nation’s darkest hours. Tai Murray plays Lalo’s seductive Symphonie espagnole. And music from the pen of Lili Boulanger, one of just a handful of exquisite masterworks she would produce in her too brief 24 years.
