I have always been proud to be Latina, of the heritage and history of my family here in Grand Rapids. My greatest honor was being elected to serve as the first Latina on the Grand Rapids City Commission.
As the second largest city in the state this is significant that we never had Latino representation.
Through the Latina network I feel I have been able to connect one to one with other Latinas and support their journey.
To be being influential means, not forgetting your roots and working to support others as they look to grow their career or business.

Siempre he estado orgullosa de ser latina, de la herencia y la historia de mi familia aquí en Grand Rapids. Mi mayor honor fue ser elegida para servir como la primera latina en la Comisión de la ciudad de Grand Rapids.
Como segunda ciudad más grande del estado, es significativo que nunca tuvimos representación latina. A través de la red Latina siento que he podido conectarme una a una con otras latinas y apoyarlas en su viaje.
Ser influyente significa no olvidar tus raíces y trabajar para apoyar a otros que buscan hacer crecer su carrera o negocio.
