Tips from locals on top places to visit within 20 minutes from Port of Miami

There is always time for shopping!
    •    Brickell City Centre & Mary Brickell Village (2.7 miles from Port of Miami)
 Amongst the ever-growing concrete jungle of downtown you’ll find the brand new Brickell City Centre, three city blocks of luxurious shopping, including Saks Fifth Avenue and open-air dining. You’re also a skip and hop away from Mary Brickell Village offers an oasis of boutiques, restaurants and people watching. A lively and fun place to walk and look at busy millennials as they bustle through this popular area. 

     •    Lincoln Road Mall (6.7 miles from Port of Miami)
 What would a visit to Miami be without venturing to Miami Beach? Just blocks from other great shopping areas like Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue, you’ll find Lincoln Road Mall, a pedestrian only promenade filled with unique stores and familiar brands, as well as great restaurants like Yuca. It’s also one of the best places to people watch – trust us. 

    •    Bayside Marketplace (1.4 miles from Port of Miami)
Whether you’re looking for a fabulous new hat or forgot your chancletas (flip flops) Bayside has you covered. Not only is the scenery beautiful, but you will find shops for all budgets and tastes, plus restaurants like Hard Rock Cafe.  It’s also the best place for catching a boat tour through million dollar mansions or see our very own Miami Walk of Fame. You can get off and on here on the Big Bus tours as well.

    •    Miami Culinary Tours (Wynwood, South Beach, Little Havana) 
If you have 2-3 hours to dedicate just to trying some of the best food in Miami, then you can’t miss Miami Culinary Tours. Pick a neighborhood and join one of the daily tours to taste Miami’s best cultural foods. From croquetas on Calle 8 to mofongo in Wynwood, it’s a must do. 

    •    Calle 8 (4.1 miles from Port of Miami)
So all your friends have told you about Calle 8 and you don’t want major FOMO right? Come on down to one of the most lively and colorful neighborhoods in Miami to experience the richness of Cuban culture. Taste amazing Cuban food, dance salsa at Ball and Chain, or try one of many mouth-watering flavors of ice cream at Azucar. You can also hop on/off here on the Big Bus Red City Loop.

    •    Española Way (6.6 miles from Port of Miami) 
 Feeling romantic? Take a stroll through a unique little street lined with Spanish colonial buildings and a world away from busy South Beach. Cozy restaurants and shops lead the way like Mare Mio Restaurant. This little hidden gem will sure to get you in vacation mode.

You shopped, you ate, now you want to explore!
    •    Wynwood Walls (3.4 miles from Port of Miami)
You cannot… we repeat… cannot come to Miami and not explore Wynwood. Every corner, every side street has something to offer. If you like taking Instagram photos, you will go nuts here.  Thanks to visionary Tony Goldman, you will never look at “Urban Graffiti” the same way again.  

    •    PAMM (2.3 miles from Port of Miami) 
Not often do you get to explore some of the best international modern art with a spectacular view. PAMM overlooks Biscayne Bay in Museum Park and provides Miami with 200,000 square feet of the most progressive visual arts… oh and the hanging gardens of course. 

    •    For the Kids: Jungle Island & Miami Children’s Museum (3.3 miles from Port of Miami)
 When was the last time you saw a rare white tiger just feet from the ocean? Yup, not often. So take the family to this literal zoo on an island to check out the rarest animals and exhibits. Oh, and did we mention Jungle Island also has private beach rentals? If your kids are all about exploring, then just cross over the Macarthur Causeway to the Miami Children’s Museum, which is filled with fun and interactive activities designed just for kids and their imagination. 

    •    Boating “Miami-Vice” Style (1.6 miles from Port of Miami) 
So you want to live out an episode of Miami Vice while speeding through “Millionaire Row” and celebrity homes? Then Thriller Miami is just the ticket.  Tours depart from Bayside Marketplace and take you on a 45 minute speedboat adventure through the most iconic shores of Miami and Miami Beach. Cue up Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight.”
