Nelson Sánchez, CEO of RoMan Manufacturing, embodies servant leadership rooted in faith, compassion, and action. A Cuban immigrant who arrived in Grand Rapids at the age of five, Nelson’s life has been shaped by resilience, family, and a deep commitment to helping others thrive.
His personal journey—from translating for his parents as a child to becoming a CPA and executive leader—reflects his belief in second chances and the transformative power of opportunity. At RoMan, he ensures the workforce reflects the community, intentionally hiring Latino employees and providing English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to empower success.
As a longtime board member of the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce and other key organizations, Nelson advocates for Latino entrepreneurs and community development.
His efforts are quiet but impactful—creating jobs, opening doors, and connecting people to new possibilities.Sánchez credits his values to the example of his parents, who opened their home to new Cuban immigrants as a way to “pay it forward.” Today, he continues that legacy by building paths for others.

Desde joven, Nelson fue el intérprete de su familia y, con esfuerzo, se convirtió en CPA y líder empresarial. Hoy en día, se asegura de que la fuerza laboral de RoMan refleje la diversidad de la comunidad. Ha implementado clases de inglés (ESL) para empleados hispanos, eliminando barreras y fortaleciendo oportunidades.
Como miembro de la Junta Directiva de la Cámara de Comercio de Grand Rapids y otras organizaciones clave, Nelson defiende activamente a los emprendedores latinos y fomenta el desarrollo económico inclusivo. Su impacto no busca reconocimiento; se enfoca en crear empleos, abrir puertas y conectar a las personas con nuevas oportunidades.
