Originally from Durango, Mexico, Rafael made the decision to immigrate to the United States more than 30 years ago in search of a better life. He is a humble man who values hard work and supporting others over glamour or fame.
Although he did not have formal education, the values he learned growing up in a small town in the Sierra of Durango have given him the opportunity to build his own businesses and understand that life is about giving back.
Rafael has been one of the pioneers in the local culinary scene, and he feels proud to see the growth of many Latino restaurants in the area today. His dedication to his craft and community continues to inspire others to pursue their dreams and celebrate their heritage through food.
