Running a staffing company allows Ruben Juarez to be at the forefront of a critical issue for West Michigan’s Latino community: employment.
By providing job opportunities to thousands of people, Jaurez has helped improve the economic well-being of numerous Latino families in West Michigan
“As a first-generation Latino and business owner, I am proud of the positive impact I’ve made on the West Michigan community,” he said. “Through leadership, advocacy and dedicated service, I’ve worked to uplift our community and create meaningful opportunities for growth and empowerment.”
Determined to honor his parents’ sacrifice in bringing his brother and him to the U.S., Juarez pursued an education with the dream of owning his own business.
After graduating from college, he spent the first 12 years of his career in the human resources field, working with a couple of local companies before striking out on his own in 2007, leading to the establishment of WORKFORCE.
Beyond his own business, Jurez participates in local business associations and chambers of commerce where he advocates for increased visibility and support for Latino entrepreneurs.
“Service to the community is something I’m particularly proud of,” he said. “I’ve organized and supported various community events and initiatives, such as job fairs, skills training workshops, and financial literacy programs. These initiatives have provided community members with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in the workforce and manage their finances effectively.”
Mentorship also is important to Juarez, enriching Latino professionals with practical experience and guidance they need to succeed.
“It’s been incredibly fulfilling to see these individuals build their careers and develop the confidence to pursue their dreams,” he said.
Finally, Juarez devotes time to preserving and promoting Latino culture by sponsoring and participating in Latino cultural festivals and events.
“These events have brought people together, strengthened community bonds, and promoted cultural understanding,” he said.
