Maria de la Luz Martínez-Vázquez, originally from Colipa, Veracruz, Mexico, tells us that gastronomy is her passion and that it has been in the family for four generations.
“My mother put a lot of love into it when she cooked, she taught us how to cook from a very young age and we inherited from her the unique flavors.
10 years ago I made the decision to start my first Tacos business on Bridge ST. and now it has three establishments, Tamales Mary and Tamales Mary Eastown to offer that familiar flavor.
Being a good example for my children and teaching them that no matter what obstacles life presents, if you want it, you can achieve it. That is the greatest challenge to understand and overcome.
Since I started in the gastronomy industry, I have always liked to involve my daughters and over time I also taught my sons.
My children have supported and helped me to be a BUSINESSWOMAN and a MOTHER at the same time.
